Nassau Vacation Packages
Written by Jeff Heath
Not only is Nassau the capital of the Bahamas, but it is the historical and cultural heart
of the islands as well. Founded in 1656, Nassau has always had a colorful existence from
it?s early colonization to the occupancy of the infamous pirate Blackbeard. Today,
tourists come in droves to this Caribbean playground and bask themselves in the beautiful
beaches, the rich history, the casinos and the infamous straw market.
In order to better cater to tourists, many vacation packages have been created, including
roundtrip airfare from major cities in the United States and roundtrip transfers from the
airport. Vacationers also can choose from several of Nassau?s finest hotel and resorts in
which to stay. In addition, hotel taxes are included.
Nassau Beach Hotel
The Nassau Beach Hotel is located along a stretch of beautiful Cable Beach. The charming
hotel offers an array of water related activities and is in walking distance of some of
Nassau?s most popular casinos.
Sheraton Grand Resort
Vacationers who choose the Sheraton Grand Resort will learn that like back in the States,
the Nassau Sheraton enjoys an impeccable reputation. Guests can take a relaxing stroll
along the three mile long beach, catch some rays by the pool or play a game of tennis.
Radisson Cable Beach Resort
The Radisson Cable Beach Resort has something for everyone. No matter where guests look,
water is abundant. Whether it be the beautiful Caribbean, one of the resort?s three
free-form polls, the Jacuzzi or the cascading waterfalls, water is always in sight.
Optional all inclusive packages include all meals with dinner in a choice of four
restaurants as well as unlimited drinks ( non-alcoholic and alcoholic ). Golf green fees
on the 18-hole championship course are also covered. The resort offers a wide variety of
activities such as snorkeling, sailing and theme parties.
Breezes Bahamas
Breezes Bahamas, a five star resort, overlooks pristine beaches and crystal blue waters.
The resort is a short walk from The Crystal Palace Casino. Weddings and vow renewals can
be prearranged and are free. This vacation spot is only for those who are 16 and older.
Atlantis, Paradise Island
Atlantis, Paradise Island is in a league all of it?s own. The resort is built around the
largest marine habitat in the world. Exhibit lagoons and underwater formations introduce
guests to creatures such as sharks and eels. Vacationers can explore the
lost world of Atlantis in The Dig. Thrill seekers will love the five waterslides. In
particular is ? The Leap of Faith ? slide that shoots daredevils through 60 feet worth of
tubing that permits a view of the shark infested water. Atlantis is home to the Discovery
Channel Camp that provides kids with fun-filled learning activities. The resort also
houses three hotels, 11 swimming areas, 20 uniquely themed restaurants, and 18 lounges.
Relax the body at the full service health spa or enjoy the fresh Caribbean air out on the
18-hole championship golf course. Atlantis will alter everyone?s perception of what a
resort should be.
Things to do in Nassau
In addition to beach related activities and the casinos, there is never a lack of
something to do in Nassau. Vacationers can visit the Government House which was home to
the British governors of past times. The size and grandeur speaks volumes
about the power these men once possessed. Step back in time every other Saturday when the
changing of the guard occurs. The most famous architectural sight on all of the island is
the Queen?s Staircase. This manmade wonder is remarkable not for it?s 66 steps linking
Fort Fincastle to the Princess Margaret Hospital, but that the steps were carved out of
calcareous sandstone over 200 years ago. The Junkanoo Expo pays tribute to the yearly
celebration that occurs on December 26th. The day after Christmas is a cultural explosion
that includes elaborate masks and sounds of the Caribbean.
